AAHGS-PGCMD
is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to promoting Black history in Prince George's County.
Through our activities, we aim to engage the community in historical and
genealogical studies of African Americans residing in the area.

Chapter History

AAHGS-PGCM The Prince George’s County, Maryland Chapter of the Afro-American Historical & Genealogical Society, Inc. (AAHGS-PGCMD) was organized in July 1994 and
chartered on the 28 April 1995.
The Chapter was organized by President Carolyn Corpening Collins Rowe, Secretary Lillie Atkinson and Treasurer Jane Taylor Thomas.
The Chapter exceeded the requirement of 10 members. Instead, 18 became chartered
members.
